Privacy Act Statement
This statement is provided pursuant to the Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S.C. § 552a, as amended:
Authority: The Automated Exemption System (AES) collects information from individuals in accordance with
49 U.S.C. 40103,
40109, and
44701, and
14 CFR Part 11.
Purpose: AES collects information to store and publish issued exemption petitions from members of the public for public viewing. Information is searched in the system by personally identifiable information (PII), such as the petitioner’s or company’s full name.
Routine Uses: The information collected, stored and maintained on this system is included in a Privacy Act System of Records
DOT/FAA 826, Petitions for Exemption (Other than Medical Exemptions) Public Dockets.
Records may be disclosed in accordance with the 14 routine uses applicable to all DOT Privacy Act systems of records. These routine uses are published in the Federal Register of 75 FR 82132, December 29, 2010, 77 FR 42796, July 20, 2012, and 84 FR 55222, October 15, 2019, under “DOT General Routine Uses” (available at
